WoW!!! What an awesome day! There are over 1000 images from this grand event which united Randy & Sheri. I went through and processed a few of my favorites…. still too many to post… you’d be scrolling forever! I put them into a slideshow played to the song of their first dance. I don’t know anyone who dances better together than these two!

The sky was slate gray but the love they had radiated beyond and lit up the day!

Question was, “should I have berries too”?
Thursday evening we gathered at Garten Marketplaz to rehearse for Sheri and Randy’s wedding. It was a time to meet and greet friends we had come to know and those we had yet to discover. Sheri arrived in a beautiful dress sent to her from her daughter, Rebecca, in Arizona. She wore it so well!

Sheri is an energetic, organized person. The entire evening was planned to a “t”, including the reception at Rochester Golf and Country Club. A delicious meal which was specially chosen by Sheri using recipes from her own kitchen. It was a wonderful time together getting to know those whom we would be so intricately connected with the following day.

  • TCPPA Bob & Dawn!!!

Monday was a day I had waited for such a long time. I had anticipated this meeting for years… yes years.

I have known this amazing person since some time in 2005, shortly after I began my Xanga blog. Her infectious personality drew me in. Her willingness to encourage and cheer me on through time as I have grown in the art of photography was beyond the normal wonderful you can ever find in people. From her I have learned so much about photography, love and life. I knew meeting her would feel the way it did. Like we’ve always known each other and always will.

Bob and Dawn were the scheduled speakers at TCPPA on Monday. It has been on my calendar since I found out they committed. Brynn and I walked in at 2:00 just as the program was about to begin and Bob and Dawn had just arrived as well. She saw me and ran to greet me with a big hug : )

Bob spoke about seeing light. His ability to reach those of us who have not yet attained his level of knowledge is such a wonderful gift. When something is so simple to one person, others like me who don’t do well with reading our manuals really rely upon educators like Bob. Show me and let me do it and I’ll understand, and show us he did!

Dawn’s part was to show post processing and album design. Her artistic gift is only enhanced by her technical understanding of complicated programs like Adobe Photoshop. She is one of those right And left brained people! She and Bob are beautiful people and an awesome team together!

A few fellow Xangans and friends of mine were also able to share the day with us. Charlotte , Amy Zellmer and Joan Pillera were blessed as I was to enjoy the company of two of the most truly sincere and gifted people I have ever met.

I am posting a few images from Bob’s hands on lighting instruction and after the meeting we all met at a sport’s bar/restaurant in Eden Prairie.

P.S. Dawn and I couldn’t find our way to the snack bar to get ourselves a bowl of shut up. Sorry Bob.

Kelsey gave me the biggest compliment I could receive. She was scheduled with another well known photographer whom I respect, yet when she saw images I had done of her friends, she rescheduled with me. What we have been doing in downtown Rochester has been such a big hit with senior girls, it is unbelievable! I like to call it my “Urban Rochester” shoot.

Kelsey and her mom Kim and bff Katie drove over from Albert Lea to do her senior pics. The day was perfect and we found amazing new backdrops for her shots. Kelsey has gorgeous auburn hair… it is thick, well shaped and simply put just plain nice. The selections of clothing she brought totally complimented her coloring and look. Kelsey was relaxed and very at ease with the camera. She needed little or no direction when posing, she is a natural. It was so much fun with her and I got to try a few things I had been eyeing for quite a while. Ever since I saw Bob and Dawn’s senior shoot from last year, where Bob shot a senior posed in the middle of traffic, I knew someday I wanted to try that. I had sized up the median in downtown Rochester in front of the Radisson and Minnesota University Square. I love the way that shot with Kelsey ended up turning out. Oh, and the prom dress in the parking ramp… sweet shot! Kelsey and company rocked “Rock Town”!

  • Kelli Hanson

I am so far behind on posting my seniors. So busy shooting and not enough processing time. I apologize to all of those who have been anticipating their posts : )

Kelli is a girl who is into everything. I posed the question “what Don’t you do” verses “what do you do”? I could see she wasn’t in China at the Olympics, so I ruled that out, but kidding aside, this girl does it all. I recently read she was a straight A student. She waterskis, went to state with the Albert Lea girl’s golf team and is the goalie for the Albert Lea girl’s hockey team. I am sure there is more that I don’t know, but this is a list of great achievement at her age. When we were at Green Lea Golf Course for a few golfing shots, we passed someone who said, “congratulations Kelli”. We got back in the truck and I asked her, “so what amazing thing have you done”? She recently won the Albert Lea City Golf Tournament!

With all of this, Kelli has her modesty in check. She was never boastful of her accomplishments. I actually had to pry to find out what made her tick. She definitely is one who is focused, driven and to date, very successful with all that she has pursued. I was honored that she chose me to do her senior portraits for her. Simply put, another wonderful senior shoot!

Brynn and I attended TCPPA yesterday and were able to listen to an amazing senior portrait photographer from West Virginia. I came away from it nothing short of inspired. I decided it was time to update the Robin One Photography logo and to become more creative with Designer Gallery prints. I decided to pull some of Barbara’s images to have a little fun with. I did some more too and will post them later.

  • Ethan Reed

Ethan is like the schweeetest guy there is. Brynn and I know Ethan… he is one of our favorite people in the world… he is an Albert Lea Tiger wrestler! Ethan has this cute little girlfriend, Jessa. No kidding, just look at the two of them. If there was an more gentle and kind, considerate guy out there… okay, well there are great guys out there, but Ethan was so sweet to Jessa and Jessa really likes Ethan too. They told me it will be a year for them very soon.

Brynn and I picked them up and we went to Hammer Field to do some jersey shots. After all of that… whew… we had to pull in for a DQ. You gotta know that after all of these daily DQ’s, it isn’t helping my figure out very much, but they are quite good : ) We drove back to Ethan’s house to pick up his mom Brenda. We did my favorite courthouse shots, briefly contemplated a funky looking gangsta house… decided nope on that, and went to pick up Ethan’s truck and headed to Jessa’s house. She lives on a very cool “farm” with beauty all around.

On the way back, we jumped out of the truck because we saw this old rusty tractor in a freshly cut field of something scratchy. The sky was gorgeous, the field looked cool and since Ethan is sorta in the farming business in a round about way, it was a perfect shot! Another great connection with wonderful wonderful people! I am so blessed : )
