Monday was a day I had waited for such a long time. I had anticipated this meeting for years… yes years.
I have known this amazing person since some time in 2005, shortly after I began my Xanga blog. Her infectious personality drew me in. Her willingness to encourage and cheer me on through time as I have grown in the art of photography was beyond the normal wonderful you can ever find in people. From her I have learned so much about photography, love and life. I knew meeting her would feel the way it did. Like we’ve always known each other and always will.
Bob and Dawn were the scheduled speakers at TCPPA on Monday. It has been on my calendar since I found out they committed. Brynn and I walked in at 2:00 just as the program was about to begin and Bob and Dawn had just arrived as well. She saw me and ran to greet me with a big hug : )
Bob spoke about seeing light. His ability to reach those of us who have not yet attained his level of knowledge is such a wonderful gift. When something is so simple to one person, others like me who don’t do well with reading our manuals really rely upon educators like Bob. Show me and let me do it and I’ll understand, and show us he did!
Dawn’s part was to show post processing and album design. Her artistic gift is only enhanced by her technical understanding of complicated programs like Adobe Photoshop. She is one of those right And left brained people! She and Bob are beautiful people and an awesome team together!
A few fellow Xangans and friends of mine were also able to share the day with us. Charlotte , Amy Zellmer and Joan Pillera were blessed as I was to enjoy the company of two of the most truly sincere and gifted people I have ever met.
I am posting a few images from Bob’s hands on lighting instruction and after the meeting we all met at a sport’s bar/restaurant in Eden Prairie.
P.S. Dawn and I couldn’t find our way to the snack bar to get ourselves a bowl of shut up. Sorry Bob.
