Yesterday afternoon, Brynn and I went to Lake City to shoot an actual Lake City 08 senior. I like to go to Lake City with everyone because the town is so awesome for shoots.

The funny thing about doing Dan’s senior portraits, is I’ve been communicating with his mom, Kathy, for several months. We’ve been waiting for the first decent day to do this shoot. As most know, I also shoot virtual tours for realtors. I cover Lake City as I live closer to the town than any of the other photographers for Technology for Realtors. One of the most recent shoots I’ve done was of a cool old house on the main drag in Lake City. That house ended up being Dan’s house! His mom gave me the address and described it and I’m thinking, what the heck! The house is so cool, we did several shots there. It has a great porch with those old wooden glass doors. Just a cool place.

Dan’s best friend is Jordan. I shot Jordan last summer and I realized they are much alike. Dan pretty much wanted to take care of what needed to be and be done so he could get to baseball practice! Before I let him off the hook, I had to ask about this place I’ve been eyeing for shoots, and Kathy knew what I was talking about. It is known as the “Pallet Palace”. It has zillions of pallets stacked up all over the place. We did a bunch of shots there and I think Dan felt a little better about his shoot knowing he risked his life in the 40+ mile an hour winds as he stood under the pallets that were swaying. It was definitely a feeling of living on the edge! I may exaggerate a little, but we got some very cool shots there.
