  • Mona & Gus

Friday afternoon I went to get some more shots of Gus.  The reason behind it is “top secret”, but let’s just say I’ve taken Gus’ pictures before for a very special reason, which I will post as soon as I am able.

Gus is a 13 year old dog who is the “son” of Mona and Pete.  I graduated with Mona which means she is 40ish just like me… still looks fantastic doesn’t she!  Gus is sort of an old guy who is the sweetest, kissiest dog around.  He is so loving.  You can tell he has great “parents”!  He has a “brother” Jake and a new “sister” Emma.  Pete and Mona love them so much!

I love to go to the White’s home to take these pictures.  This is our second shoot and it took over 5 hours.  Not because Gus was all that difficult of a subject, but because Mona and her family are awesome people who totally invite me in.  Mona and I shared a couple bottles of wine and time flew by.

Above is my favorite shot of Gus and Mona.  It wasn’t the shot we needed to get (top secret) but we had to try and create direct sunlight on a flat gray day.  I put a strobe above and tried to get Gus in the correct position.  Mona was trying to make him comfortable and pose him in the necessary pose (top secret).  We were laughing at how Gus just wanted to snuggle and that’s when I snapped this shot.

Another cool shot is this one of “Gussy” kissing Tanner, Mona’s nephew.  It was shot with no flash and total low light, but the image is super sweet!  You can see the love in this picture… You can feel the love in the White home.  They are a tight family.  Lot to admire about that.

Thank you Mona for the wine, the laughs and great memories.  You so rock!

Oh, and I’m getting that recipe for the awesome caramel corn mix I was munching on!
