Jefferson Minnesota Zoo Trip
A couple of weeks ago, I got to be a chaperone for Isaac’s 3rd grade trip to the Zoo. What that actually means is… I got to go to the zoo with a bunch of 3rd graders and have a BLAST!!! I am a chronic volunteer for school trips. I am always raising my hands to the teachers… “pick me, pick me”! I think since I have a big camera, they let me come with. I am nothing more than an overgrown kid. We have fun together on these trips.
This guy to the left is Alex. He isn’t in Isaac’s class, but I got to sit by him on the bus ride. He was so cool! He brought this book along and quized me up and back. It was a book about the presidents. Oh my gosh… like I’m an expert or something. I did come away with the knowledge that the Baby Ruth candy bar, actually wasn’t named for Babe Ruth the baseball player. It was for President Cleveland’s daughter, Ruth, who was the first child born to a president while in office. Cool! Anyway if you see this, Hi Alex, and thanks for the great conversation and learning experience!
And here on the right is Isaac and Warwick. They have become friends this year. Warwick is a twin. There are 4 sets of twins in the 3rd grade at Jefferson. It is a multi-cultural school, which is new for Brynn, Isaac and myself. I love the diversity and learning about other’s beliefs. I sat with Hussain, another twin, at lunch and we talked about his muslim beliefs. He has a sister named Nemo who is in Brynn’s class at Kellogg. I find it very fascinating to have people from other cultural backgrounds living in this area.
The zoo trip was very fun and I can’t wait to join this class again!
