This is what I do. I am a photographer.
I have always been an observer. I could sit at an airport all day long and watch people come and go. How they part from and reconnect with their loved ones. The relationships we have are what makes us who we are. The relationships with our parents, children, family and friends.
This is Ben and Riley. This is the relationship that they have. They are brothers who love each other very much. When I am photographing children, I like to be like a “mouse in the corner”. I virtually disappear from their awareness and photograph them as they would be with each other as if no one else was around. Parents have often told me that they cannot capture these expressions that I am able to record with my camera. Their children are aware that they are there and they react differently.
This is what I am. This is what I love to do. I am a photographer.
