Nolan and Nick
It’s taken me a while to get these images going, but now that I’ve started, I can’t stop! They are so incredibly good!
There are almost 400 images from this shoot on the 15th of October. Brynn and I drove to Spring Valley to meet Karen and her boys at their home in the country. I’m thinking… why in the world do they live so far from Rochester where she works? It is a long drive and then down a dusty gravel road, up a steep driveway. Then we walked into the home which Karen and her husband recently built and looked out the back picture window. Oh my gosh! It was the most beautiful view. She introduced Brynn and I to Nolan and Nick and proceeded to tell me they own 50 something acres of land. We got our gear together and took a walk. There is a trout stream running through the property with a 50 foot limestone wall to boot! I very quickly understood why they live there and drive to work. WoW! Nolan and Nick are two very blessed boys to be raised in such a beautiful surroundings.
This is Nolan. He is the big brother. He was a little shy at first, but quickly warmed up. I’m sure Brynn helped with that. She loves little ones and had a fun time being my “assistant” that day. I think Nolan looks just like his dad. His dad was moose hunting up north the day we did this shoot. It’s too bad he didn’t get to be here to hold their hands for some shots. The ones of Karen and the boys are awesome. I said as I was taking them, “if I only had a few shots like this of my kids and I when they were little”. Moments like these slip away so quickly.
This little one is Nick. He was fun from the first image I shot of him! What a personality he has! He just went on his way, doing his own thing. He is so cute… they are both so cute. I’m sitting here editing them and thinking how much their parents must be in love with them!
Nick also knows sign language. I’m not sure if that is the exact definition, but he signs different things, like “milk” and “hungry”. It was so amazing to see him communicating before he could say words.
Karen is such a great mom. She has so much love for them and patience in abundance. Two little guys could be a big challenge… I know I have one! Her focus is totally on these two and their needs. Brynn and I had a great time with them, walking through their wooded “backyard”. I can’t wait to finish these images and order the album. It will be impossible to choose, there are so many incredible shots of the boys.
Back to work!
